When I was a young girl, I told my family that I was going to be a makeup artist when I grew up. Putting my dream on the back burner, I went to college and became an educator. I truly enjoyed teaching, but longed to express my artistic creativity outside of the classroom and work for myself. I, like many makeup artists, started out applying makeup on friends. Over time, I began applying makeup for functions and special events, and soon after, I branched out into the wedding world. I got my professional start as a bridal makeup artist with one of the District of Columbia’s premier bridal teams of multi-ethnic on-site makeup and hair professionals. In 2009, I started The Makeup Chic, by Suzanne Eden, an on-site boutique makeup service, and serve as owner, manager, and head artist.
The thing I enjoy most about makeup is being able to look at someone’s face and see how it could be enhanced with makeup. It’s extremely satisfying when a client loves her makeup, or when, because of a makeup enhancement, she presents as the best version of herself and therefore feels more confident. I have a passion for supporting independent small businesses and researching non-toxic, one-of-a kind specially curated beauty products.
I love running the business side of The Makeup Chic, by Suzanne Eden. This involves client communications and bookings, writing and executing individualized contracts, advertising, marketing, subcontracting with other artists when necessary, and helping clients find beauty products that fit their lifestyle and beauty needs.
When I am not applying makeup, you can find me cooking or planning an entrepreneurial adventure with my husband (who is a musician), spending time with my family—especially our adorable son, Erik—and going to dinner with close friends.
I have been a professional makeup artist since 2009. For four consecutive years (2012–2015), I have been winning WeddingWire’s Couples’ Choice Award. I work with top production companies and photographers that hire me for their corporate advertising photo and video shoots. My makeup work can be seen on billboards and print advertisements in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia, as well as web-based advertisements, television, and blogs.
Between 2012 and 2014, I’ve had the pleasure of personally coordinating and overseeing more than one hundred weddings, and contracting with countless top professional hair artists and assistants, assembling the best individualized teams for my clients.

In 2014, I had the privilege to serve as makeup artist for a photo shoot of one the most successful couples in the District of Columbia: Timothy Chi and Tracey Thomm. The full feature photo shoot was published in Washington Life.
